These FREE library cards allow you to access books, magazines, online databases, online reference help, DVDs, CDs and more! To register bring your identification to any branch library with your name and current address. Children in grade 8 or under require the signature of a parent or guardian.

The Sarnia Library Graphic Novel and Anime Club talks anime movies

Sarnia, ON – The Sarnia Library Graphic Novel and Anime Club's next meeting has been changed from Monday, August 16 to Monday, August 23 at 7 PM . It will now be held in the Sarnia Library Theatre. The main topic for August is anime movies. These range from the works of Hayao Miyazaki like "Spirited Away" about a girl trapped in a fairy tale bath house to Katsuhiro Otomo's "Akira" about a future Japan ravaged by war to Mamoru Oshii's "Ghost in the Shell" which deals with the issue "what is it that makes us human?" Akira introduced face movement for characters while reciting dialogue.

The Great Green Adventure show with Safari Jeff and Shannon will tour to six Lambton County libraries this summer. This fun, interactive and entertaining presentation offers families a unique, upclose opportunity to discover and photograph some of the world's most incredible wildlife. Audiences are educated on the need for conservation and preservation of species as well as captivated with the collection of snakes, turtles, alligators and other captive-born reptiles.

"Resume café" Offered at Sarnia Library

Sarnia Service Canada Centre for Youth will be hosting a "Resume café" at the Sarnia Library on Tuesday, July 20, from 10:30 to 12:30 p.m. in the Teen area. Participants are encouraged to bring in copies of their resume. Assistance will be offered in writing and proofreading resumes and cover letters. Informal advice will also be offered in regards to interview skills and job search techniques.
