Agnes Depew: Selections from the Permanent Collection
Wednesday, June 25, 2008 (1360 reads)

The Sarnia landscape holds many of the same features as it did fifty years ago.  The billows of white sails contrasted against the azure blue waters of Lake Huron.  Looking across Sarnia Bay, the smokestacks still frame the scene, with freighters passing through.

Sarnia artist Agnes Depew painted and drew scenes of Sarnia for well over 50 years, until her death in 1977.  Gallery Lambton is featuring a small exhibition of primarily drawings and lino- blocks by Agnes Depew from June 21 to July 26.  An opening reception will be held at Gallery Lambton on First Friday, July 4, beginning at 6:30 p.m.  Everyone is welcome.  On Saturday, July 12 at 1:00 p.m. come and share your fond memories and stories about Miss Depew over a cup of Tea.   Admission to the gallery is free.
