Hippie Connections at Gallery Lambton
Tuesday, August 21, 2007 (1060 reads)

It was a time of unrest, particularly in the U.S., where anti-war protests over the Vietnam war and the Civil Rights movement left an indelible mark on a generation.  Many from this era wore the label hippie happily, breaking the conservative norms with their marches, their sit-ins, and their mantra, “Make love, not war”.  The exhibition Hippie Connections will be featured at Gallery Lambton from September 1 to October 13, 2007.  This group exhibition by fibre artists will celebrate and reflect upon the hippies of the 1960’s and 1970’s.  Meet the artists at an opening reception which will take place at Gallery Lambton on Friday, September 7, at 7:00 p.m.  A walking tour with Johnnene Maddison, artist, will take place Saturday, September 8 at 3:00 p.m.  Admission to Gallery Lambton is free.
