Wyoming, ON – Lambton County Library is changing their material borrowing rules to decrease waiting times and increase availability to the public, effective March 1st, 2008.
Changes include the creation of a high demand collection, a reduction in the loan period for print material, and an increase in the amount of holds permitted per card.
· The High Demand Collection is a new service aimed at providing maximum access to the newest and most heavily requested books. This collection circulates for two weeks only. Renewals will not be permitted on this material and the overdue fine will be $.50 per day to a maximum of $5.00.
o A maximum of three (3) renewals on materials other than those in the high demand collection is permitted.
· Loan periods on print material will decrease from 28 days to 21 days.
· The amount of holds per library card will increase from 20 to 40.
The Lambton County Library online catalogue at www.lclmg.org allows patrons to view over 850,000 items including books, magazines, video-cassettes, DVDs, and CDs. Library members are able to access the “User activities” feature which includes alerting services, reserving materials and accessing their account information.
