Kill-A-Watt Meters Available @ your library

Kill-A-Watt Meters Available @ your library

Wyoming, ON – Identify those power hungry appliances in your home and save money with the help of Lambton County Library and Bluewater Power.  Ten Kill-A-Watt™ meters are now available on a loan basis at Lambton County libraries to help calculate the cost of running your appliances.

“This easy to use device will enable Bluewater Power customers to monitor their electrical usage and realize “real time” energy consumption”, says David Mackay, Conservation & Demand Side Management Coordinator, Bluewater Power Distribution Corporation.

Simply connect appliances to the meter and it will assess how efficient your appliances really are.  Electrical expenses can be calculated by the hour, day, week, month, or even an entire year enabling customers to adjust their appliance use and cut energy costs.

The Kill-A-Watt™ meters are available for FREE from any library for a three week loan period. A library card is needed to borrow the device.

This unique partnership between Lambton’s Libraries and Bluewater Power was generated as a result of the City of Sarnia’s Community Round Table.  After the November, 2007 Environmental Summit, working groups were formed to implement ideas to help Sarnia achieve a sustainable future.  The availability of Kill-A-Watt™ meters in local libraries was deemed an achievable goal.

Lambton County’s 26 libraries provide a variety of FREE services to the public including programming and Internet access.  For more information about Lambton County Library, visit www.lclmg.org.
