Free Comic Book Day at your library May 2, 2009

Free Comic Book Day at your library May 2, 2009

Wyoming, ON – Reacquaint yourself with comic books by participating in FREE Comic Book Day on Saturday, May 2.  Approximately 750 comic books, supplied by Future Pastimes in Sarnia, are available to the public, free of charge at any of Lambton County’s 26 branch libraries.

Comic book shops across North America and around the world participate in this single day event to promote comic books and educate potential readers with the comics’ specialty market.

“Some will follow the traditional superhero theme, many are meant to tickle your funny bone, and some are comics of popular television shows,” says Greer Macdonell Hurst, Children's Services Coordinator at Lambton County Library.  “Several of the comics also have graphic novels based around those characters which may be found in the libraries.”

Be sure to check the Saturday hours of your local branch library to ensure they are open when you visit.  Comic books will also be available at Sarnia’s local comic shop, Future Pastimes, located at 163 Lochiel Street.

Lambton County’s libraries provide a variety of FREE services to the public including programming and Internet access.  For more information about Lambton County Library, visit www.lclmg.org.
