Wyoming, ON – It's going to be a summer of mystery, agents, eyeball benders and owls @ your library with Lambton County Library's 2009 Summer Reading Programs. All programs run from July 2 to August 22.
Agent 009 is the theme of the TD Summer Reading Program available for children ages 0-12. Agent 009 is a super sleuth, secret agent, investigator, inspector or private detective who encourages participants to read…read…read…mystery, suspense and more! Beginning July 2, students can pick up a reading passport from their local library to record their personal weekly reading goals and help their branch library adopt an owl from the World Wildlife Fund. Participation prizes include a pencil, tattoo, posters, stickers and bookmark. Children should be advised to contact their local library for information on the activities and crafts planned or visit our web site at www.lclmg.org.
Tweens, ages 9-12, are also encouraged to participate in the contest "Eyeball Benders" which features common library objects in an uncommon perspective. Each week 4 new eyeball benders will be posted at www.lclmg.org . Tweens can help identify the mystery objects and fill out a ballot at their library with their guesses, or email them to greer.macdonell@lambton.county.on.ca, Correct ballots will be placed in a draw for the grand prize of a PlayStation Portable.
Teens, ages 12-18, can participate in the Teen Survivor Program. Ten books, involving murder, mayhem and mystery, have been selected. Readers can vote for their favourite title during the final week for a chance to win a prize, including the grand prize of an iPod Touch. Books are available by reservation at any Lambton County library or online at www.lclmg.org.
Please PRE-REGISTER for all programs except those specified as a “DROP-IN” by contacting the individual library. Our programs are FREE unless otherwise noted. Visit www.lclmg.org for further details.
