Sarnia, ON – The Sarnia Library Graphic Novel and Anime Club is presenting the Japanese animated science fiction film “Cowboy Bebop” on Tuesday August 25th at 7:00 PM in the Library Theatre. Admission is free.
The Sarnia Library Graphic Novel and Anime Club usually meets on the second Monday of the month at 7 PM to talk about graphic novels, Japanese and other forms of animation, computer games and movies.
“Cowboy Bebop” is the story of a colourful group of bounty hunters searching for terrorists on a future version of the planet Mars. It is based on a popular television series of the same name which depicts life in a Solar System where interplanetary travel and genetic engineering are common.
The director Shinichiro Watanabe also worked on the short films “Kid's Story” and “A Detective Story” on the “Animatrix” DVD which was part of the “Matrix” movie series. Like the “Matrix” this movie asks the question “Are you living in a real world or an imagined reality?”
This movie is rated Adult Accompaniment by the Ontario Film Review Board for violence, and it also includes strong language, smoking and partial nudity. Please call the Reference Department at 519 337-3291 for more information or to confirm your attendance.
