Lambton County Library Calendar of Events for September 2009

Lambton County Library Calendar of Events for September 2009

Wyoming, ON – Lambton County Libraries are reminding students to “get carded @ your library”, the most important Back to School item this fall.   These FREE library cards allow you to access books, magazines, online databases, online reference help, DVDs, CDs and more!  To register bring your identification to any branch library with your name and current address.  Children in grade 8 or under require the signature of a parent or guardian.

If you'd like to meet new people and be introduced to some great reads, consider joining one of Lambton County Library's FREE book clubs.  Many of these clubs are resuming for the fall and are welcoming new members.  Check the programming information below for Book Club availability at your local library.

Electronic Database of the Month:  Ask Ontario (askON), a project of Knowledge Ontario.  askON is a "real-time chat information service offering immediate, interactive and knowledgeable research and reference help on-line."  Access the chat line at the library's web site at www.lclmg.org, available after September 8, 2009.

New preschool sessions begin the week of September 8 at most Lambton libraries.  Tales for Tots is a thirty-minute program designed for children ages one and two and their caregivers. Story Hour is a one-hour program for the three to five year old. Included are songs, stories, fingerplays, activities, and crafts developed to stimulate and create an early interest in reading. Sessions are generally six-weeks in length.  French Story Hour is also offered at the Alvinston, Corunna, Petrolia and Sarnia libraries.  Please contact these libraries for more information.

Please PRE-REGISTER for all programs except those specified as a “DROP-IN” by contacting the individual library. Our programs are FREE unless otherwise noted. Visit www.lclmg.org for further details.

All Lambton County Library branches are closed on Sunday, September 6 and Monday, September 7.
