Imagine the field of emotions one experiences when working in the world's danger zones. Join local nurse, Bonnie Kearns, at the Sarnia Library, as she describes her experiences in disaster response around the world. Kearns will be the feature speaker at Tuesday Talks @ Sarnia Library on November 17, 2009 at 2:00 p.m.
"Responding to a disaster is exciting, nerve-wracking, boring, scary, rewarding, heartbreaking, frustrating, sad, tiring and wonderful," says Kearns. "It is an amazing adventure even if you get scorpions in your shoes, big snakes in your garden, wild dogs outside your tent and rats in your toilet."
As a member of the Canadian Red Cross, Bonnie has been deployed to many disasters, including Ground Zero in New York, Hurricane Katrina, Afghanistan and Pakistan. This presentation is about adventure, celebrating differences, and following the dream. She has also been recognized for her work with the YMCA Peace Award.

Tuesday Talks @ Sarnia Library is an adult series running bi-weekly. The next session, on December 1st, features Community Health Services Dietician, Connie Malette, on Healthy Eating for the Holidays and Beyond.
