Sarnia, ON –  Looking for something different to do over the Christmas Break?  The Sarnia Library is presenting the following free events:

·         Monday December 28 at 7:00 PM - Plan to see the animated cyberpunk movie "Renaissance" by French director Christian Volckman at the Sarnia Library Theatre.  In the movie, a detective searches a futuristic Paris for a kidnapped scientist who holds a secret to humanity's future.  The movie features the voices of Daniel Craig and Ian Holm and it has a visual style that uses mostly black and white with just touches of colour.  This film is rated 14A for coarse language, mild sexuality and violence.

·         Tuesday December 29 at 7:00 PM - Take in the hand drawn animated feature, "The Triplets of Belleville" by the French Canadian director Sylvain Chomet at the Sarnia Library Theatre.  It is a more family friendly film where a grandmother searches for her kidnapped cyclist grandson so he can re-enter the Tour de France.  The story is told in mostly song and pantomime with the few spoken sentences in French with English subtitles.  The soundtrack features music based on the jazz of the twenties.  This film is rated G and suitable for all.

·         Saturday, January 2nd at 10:00 AM “The Return of Star Wars Day” will feature discussions and demonstrations of the movies, books, video games, fan videos and other media in the Sarnia Library Theatre and West Room.    Events run until 5pm.

Admission is free; however, the library will accept donations of canned goods and other non perishable items for the Inn of the Good Shepherd Food Bank.  Please call the Reference Department at 519 337-3291 for more information or to reserve your seat.
