The Sarnia Library Graphic Novel and Anime Club talks anime movies - 2010

Sarnia, ON –  The Sarnia Library Graphic Novel and Anime Club's next meeting has been changed from Monday, August 16 to Monday, August 23 at 7 PM .  It will now be held in the Sarnia Library Theatre.   The main topic for August is anime movies.  These range from the works of Hayao Miyazaki like "Spirited Away" about a girl trapped in a fairy tale bath house to Katsuhiro Otomo's "Akira" about a future Japan ravaged by war to Mamoru Oshii's "Ghost in the Shell" which deals with the issue "what is it that makes us human?"  Akira introduced face movement for characters while reciting dialogue.

 

The Sarnia Library Graphic Novel and Anime Club meets monthly to talk about graphic novels, Japanese and other forms of animation, computer games, science fiction and movies.
