Osteoporosis Information Session at Mallroad Library - 2010

SARNIA, ON – Are you at risk for Osteoporosis?  Called "the silent thief", osteoporosis often robs bones of strength over time.    An information session with Osteoporosis Canada will be held at the Mallroad Library on Tuesday, October 5, 2010, at 7:00 p.m.   Learn about the causes, how to prevent osteoporosis through diet and exercise and how to manage the disease.  Pre-registration is required for this FREE session.

According to Osteoporosis Canada, 1.4 million Canadians have osteoporosis, a disease that can lead to an increase in bone fractures particularly of the hip, spine and wrist.   Adults, over the age of 50, are most at risk with one in four women and at least one in eight men being affected.   However, osteoporosis can strike adults at any age.

For more information about this program or to pre-register, please call the Mallroad Library at 519 542-2580.
