The annual Lambton Fall Colour and Craft Festival, a regional event that attracts visitors from throughout Southwestern Ontario, returns to Lambton Shores October 15 and 16, 2011.

The Lambton Heritage Museum hosts the special feature, a Christmas Craft Sale which offers country decorating accessories, folk art, woodworking, fine art, photography, children and ladies clothing, jewelry, stained glass, pottery and more.  Over 5000 people are expected to visit the event locations over the weekend.

Craft exhibitor booths will be featured at a second location in Thedford.  This year, the new Legacy Recreation Centre at 16 Allen Street will serve as the second venue. 

One admission charge of $4 for adults and $1 for children allows access to both craft venues.  Visitors can begin their day at either location, or can split up their show stops over the two days of the event.  The Fall Colour and Craft Festival includes over 100 quality craftspeople.

A sampling of the more than twenty artisans from Lambton County alone includes Carol Leckie from Petrolia with jewelry and walking sticks, Ron Hare of Sarnia with wooden furniture, Gwen Williams from Watford with primitive and country decorating, soy candles from Debbie Barnes of Sarnia, rustic wood from Jeff Vanderbeck of Forest, children's toys from Leo DeBruyn of Grand Bend and heat wrap products from Rick Gallagher of Petrolia to name just a few.

The Lambton Fall Colour and Craft Festival also includes the Village of Thedford’s ‘Fall Fantasia', which combines a Farmers' Market of local bog and orchard produce, with bake, sidewalk, and yard sales.  Fall Fantasia takes place along Main Street, in the Village centre.  The Firemen will also host their Firehall Breakfast on Sunday morning and there will be free children's finger printing in the parking lot by the fire hall.

Mother Nature's autumn finery will be admired by all, regardless of weather and visitors can also take in the 7th Annual Poinsettia Holiday Shopping Tour in the Northville/Port Franks area.  Just follow the poinsettias to all vendors, including the tearoom operated by the Ausable Port Franks Optimist Club in the community centre.

In its thirty years of operation, the Lambton Heritage Museum, located on highway 21, 8 km south of Grand Bend, has grown to include an intriguing collection of one-of-a kind artifacts in eight buildings on a thirty acre site, visited by over 15,000 visitors each year.
