Untitled Page Corunna, ON Experience life in 1863, during Oil Spring's race riot and through the eyes of a twelve year old boy. Ann Towell, the author of the children's book Grease Town, will be at the Corunna Library's Adult Book Club to talk about this historical fiction book. The event will be held on Monday, October 25, at 6:30 p.m. and members of the public are invited to attend. Donations are welcome to support this event.
Towell, who grew up in Wallaceburg and lives near Shetland, published her first children's novel, The Hollow Locust Trees, in 1998. She was also co-finalist for the Dorothea Lange/Paul Taylor Award for work on the Mennonites, a segment that appeared in the 1994 summer edition of Descant magazine.
