Lambton County Library Events forJanuary 2011

Lambton County Library Events forJanuary 2011

Wyoming, ON –.  Enjoy a lively discussion and meet others who share your love for reading by joining a Book Club available at many Lambton County libraries.   For more information, contact one of the libraries listing Book Clubs in the event calendar below.

Start your own book club!  Book club sets are available for an 8-week loan period.   A wide selection of books, for both adults and teens, is available for discussion.  Each set contains 10 copies of the book.  Contact your library for more information or visit the website at www.lclmg.org.

Family Literacy Day, a national event held annually on January 27, promotes the importance of families reading and learning together.  Many libraries will be holding special events during the week and everyone is encouraged to attend.  Fill out a ballot during the month of January, at any branch library, for a chance to win a book during our Family Literacy Day draws.

New preschool sessions begin the week of January 3 at most Lambton libraries.  Tales for Tots is a thirty-minute program designed for children ages one and two and their caregivers. Story Hour is a one-hour program for the three to five year old. Included are songs, stories, fingerplays, activities, and crafts developed to stimulate and create an early interest in reading. Sessions are generally six-weeks in length.  French Story Hour is also offered at the Alvinston, Corunna, Petrolia and Sarnia libraries.  Please contact these libraries for more information

Please PRE-REGISTER for all programs except those specified as a “DROP-IN” by contacting the individual library. Our programs are FREE unless otherwise noted. Visit www.lclmg.org for further details.

All Lambton County Library branches are closed on Saturday, January 1 and Sunday, January 2nd.
