all fans of those genres and media.
"This new club
will provide an interesting environment for the fans to learn a more about books,
DVD's and programs at Lambton's Libraries featuring those topics, and will
allow members an opportunity to meet up with other fans in
Sarnia-Lambton," said Jeffrey Beeler, Reference Librarian.
Activities will
include conventions such as GenreCon, which features authors, books and films
on Saturday, April 16; HadouCon on Saturday, July 9 for anime and manga fans; Zombiefest
on Saturday, October 29 for horror fans and finishing with Star Wars Day between
Christmas and New Year's Day. The Club
will also feature book discussions and movie nights. The club is intended for
anyone age eighteen or over.
The meetings will be
held at 7 p.m. on the second or third Monday of the month upstairs in the Sarnia
Library’s West Room. The first meeting
will be on Monday, January 17th 2011 and the first item of business will be to choose
a name for the club. For more
