Sarnia,
ON – The Sarnia
Library Graphic Novel and Anime Club is presenting a free anime movie on Monday,
August 29th at 6:30 PM in the Library Theatre. Admission is free; however, the library will
accept donations of canned goods and other non perishable items for the Inn of the Good Shepherd Food Bank.
The anime movie to be
shown on August 29th shows a future Asian city where a female cyborg police
officer leads an elite team trying to track down the Puppet Master, a powerful,
mysterious computer hacker who can control people's minds. The movie examines the blurring of the
definition of humanity caused by the impact of technology.
Anime is the very
realistic animation usually created in Japan but gaining popularity in
other countries. Examples of anime
movies include: “Spirited Away”, “Metropolis” and “Porco Rosso” all by Studio
Ghibli, “The Triplettes of Belleville” created here in Canada and the science
fiction epics “Akira” and “The Wings of Honneamise.”
This movie is rated 14A - Suitable for viewing by persons 14 years
of age and older. Persons under 14 must
be accompanied by an adult. May contain:
