Sarnia, ON –  The Sarnia Library is presenting the movie "Treasure Planet" on Monday, January 30 at 7 p.m. in the Sarnia Library Theatre.  Admission is free.

"The film is a futuristic updating of the classic story "Treasure Island" by Robert Louis Stevenson and combines high technology with swashbuckling fun," says Jeffrey Beeler, Reference Librarian.

The showing is hosted by Trent Rogers owner of "Future Pastimes" comic book store and a writer/director of the television series "The Comic Book Store."  He will introduce the movie and provide a commentary after it concludes.  An episode of "The Comic Book Store" written and directed by Rogers as a short will be screened before the movie starts.

The movie features the voices of Joseph Gordon-Levitt, as Jim Hawkins, Emma Thompson, David Hyde Pierce and Martin Short and was directed by Ron Clements and John Musker who also made "Aladdin" and "The Little Mermaid."  Roger Ebert described it by saying, "it has zest and humor and some lovable supporting characters."

This movie is rated G - Suitable for all audiences.

Admission is free; however, the library will accept donations of canned goods and other non perishable items for the Inn of the Good Shepherd Food Bank.  Please call the Reference Department at 519 337-3291 for more information and to confirm your attendance.
