Sarnia, ON – The Sarnia Library Science Fiction, Fantasy, Horror and Anime Club is celebrating its first anniversary.

"The club provides an interesting environment for the fans to learn a more about books, DVD's and programs at Lambton's Libraries featuring those topics, and allows members an opportunity to meet up with other fans in Sarnia-Lambton," said Jeffrey Beeler, Reference Librarian.

Activities include conventions such as GenreCon, which features authors, books and films on Saturday, May 5th; HadouCon in July for anime and manga fans; Zombiefest in October for horror fans and finishing with Star Wars Day between Christmas and New Year's Day.  The Club also features book discussions and movie nights. The club is intended for anyone age eighteen or over.

The meetings will be held at 7 p.m. on the second or third Monday of the month upstairs in the Sarnia Library’s West Room.  The next meeting will be on Monday, January 16, 2012.  For more information please call the Reference Department at 519 337-3291.
